LOCAL HUNTINGTON BEACH ACTIVE RELEASE CHIROPRACTOR WORKS WITH PROFESSIONAL SKATEBOARDERS AT 2010 MALOOF MONEY CUP

HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA 08/07/2010 – On Friday the pro competition began at the Orange County Fair in Costa Mesa CA. The previous days consisted of the preliminary stages of the competition but today was the day everyone was waiting for, the pros included. With more competitive riding comes more potential for injury sending some of the skaters to the medical tent for care.

In the tent this year is Dr. Sebastian Gonzales, a local Active Release® Chiropractor from P3 Sports Care in Huntington Beach. Dr Gonzales commented, “This is my first year working this event and I love it so far. All of the skaters are really appreciative of the care we are providing and they seem to be responding really well to treatment. A few of the pros I worked with placed high on the first part of the competition.”

Skaters periodically came into see Dr. Gonzales during the two days he was here with injuries varying from chronic lower back pain to fresh knee injuries sustained that day.

“Active Release® is perfect for this type of athlete,” stated Dr. Gonzales. “Due to their sport, they will have repetitive stresses on their joints causing scar tissue to form within their muscles, leading to a decrease in performance. What I always say is your muscles should feel like ‘choice meat,’ not discounted steak. Removing that scar tissue frees up joint motion and almost make you feel like Superman again!”

Dr. Gonzales was accompanied by various healthcare providers, who brought their own expertise to the Cup. These providers ranged from Athletic Trainers to Orthopedic Surgeons. Judging by the popularity of their services it is more than certain they will be back to help next year.
